Responsibilities

Responsible for managing, leading, and executing internal audits, including Operational and IT audits. Performs audits in accordance with applicable assurance and consulting standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors and/or the Standards for IT Audit and Assurance published by ISACA. Reviews internal controls for efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance matters significant to the audit objectives as part of conducting each audit. Supervises and trains staff, including the assignment of work and providing guidance. Communicates the progress of the audits, reviews, and projects to the Chief Audit Officer (CAO) and reports any deviation from established audit protocols. Drafts and finalizes audit reports to communicate observations, issues, risks, and recommendations. Responsible for developing recommendations to improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

Performs follow-up to monitor and ensure that management actions have been effectively implemented or that senior management has accepted the risk of not taking action.

Carry out other duties as deemed appropriate by the CAO. Examples of such duties include assisting in operational and compliance audits, internal control reviews, special projects, investigations of varying complexities, and internal assessments as part of the Quality Assurance and Improvement Program required by the Institute of Internal Auditors' standards.

Qualifications

A bachelors' degree and two years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• CISA, CISSP or CISM certification.
• Ability to adhere to ethical business practices and promote ethical behavior.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data, substantiating information, considering and respecting others' input personal values, and ethics.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.
• Ability to identify, analyze, evaluate and document sufficient and appropriate information to support audit findings.
• Ability to solve problems and conduct audits and investigations.
• Ability to meet project deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
• Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.
• Knowledge of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Standards for IS Audit and Assurance published by ISACA.
• Ability to perform assigned responsibilities with minimal to moderate supervision.
• Knowledge of information technology security measures.
