The Pharmacy Department has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Pharmacist Hematology/Oncology to work in our UHealth Hollywood location. The Pharmacist compounds and dispenses prescribed drugs in a healthcare facility environment. Also, an employee in this position transfers prescriptions, handles incoming physician calls, logs data into applicable databases, and performs drug utilization review. Core job functions include implementing and maintaining procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policies and legal requirements to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal; compounding and dispensing medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients; calculating the volume of medication required to produce the desired results to ensure proper dosages; assessing the identity, strength, and purity of medications; reviewing prescriptions to ensure accuracy, ascertain the needed ingredients, and evaluate suitability; providing information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage; analyzing prescription trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent inappropriate usage or harmful interactions; maintaining records such as pharmacy and system files, patient profiles, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries for poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs; advising customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, and healthcare supplies; and adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguarding University assets. Core qualifications include a Pharm.D. degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy, current licensure in good standing in the State of Florida, and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
