Purpose Floor & Decor Sr. Designer leads our design team and provides a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service that builds lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. Responsibilities include meeting with customers, understanding their project needs, educating them on project requirements, and creating design concepts that reflect their style, lifestyle, and budget. Minimum Eligibility Requirements Design education (BA or AA in Interior Design) 6 years interior design experience in lieu of education Combination of education and experience equal to 6 years Prior retail/sales experience preferred Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus Proficient in basic mathematical skills Self-motivated with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Internal candidates must have 24 months of experience in a Floor & Decor Designer position Essential Functions Build and maintain relationships with residential and professional customers Greet customers and support design walk-ins Schedule and develop clientele through networking and referrals Advise on tile, wood, stone, and accessories for residential and commercial projects Design and sell complete solutions Manage multiple projects with accuracy and communication Collaborate with store leadership and staff Support company initiatives and stay current with design trends Utilize design applications like Salesforce and MyProject Participate in professional affiliations such as ASID, NKBA Working Conditions Limited travel by car Frequent exposure to warehouse environment and moving vehicles; moderate to noisy noise levels Physical/Sensory Requirements Medium Work: exerting 20-50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly; frequent use of hands and fingers; occasional standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping.
