Seeking a Technical Production Manager to work on all aspects of our development and production programs from building mill relationships, working on the new mill onboarding process, helping to manage the supply chain in Asia,b managing the shipping of all samples, and overseeing the quality management in order to ensure that our programs are executed to the highest level of quality and design integrity.

The Technical Production Manager will report to the Director of Product Development and Production located in Los Angeles office.

REQUIREMENTS:

● A minimum of 7 years of experience in artificial leather manufacturing.

● Deep knowledge of material substrates such as: knits, wovens; non-wovens.

● Advanced degree in materials engineering, materials science, textile science, or equivalent professional experience.

● Existing relationships with artificial leather mills in China servicing the automotive industry.

● Experience in chemical procurement, and secondary processing such as flame lamination, perforation, and embroidery.

● A strong foundation in manufacturing for large scale production programs and the automotive PPAP process.

● A strong understanding and experience of quality control at scale.

● Proficient in English and Mandarin.

● Proficient in Excel, Word, Gmail, Adobe Acrobat

● Has experience with sustainable materials such as bio-based and recycled content.

● Is located in or willing to relocate to Shanghai or surrounding areas.

● Is willing to travel to mill partners weekly

● Upholds high integrity especially with regards to company and Clients’ Intellectual Property

RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Provide technical support to mill partners for material development to meet OEM performance specifications.

● Liaise with mill partners on the implementation of quality control processes and factory audits.

● Lead mill audits with clients and OEMs.

● Partner with nominated third-party laboratories to carry out performance testing needed by client.

● Analyze performance results from internal and external laboratories to give feedback to mill partners.

● Review all lab dips and sample yardage created for color, gloss, and haptic matching to masters before shipping to clients and US office.

● Triangulate shipments and repackage sample rolled goods and lab dips shipping to international clients.

● Participate in weekly meetings with the US office team to give project updates.

● Uphold calendars created by the US office by monitoring production and development to ensure all projects are on time.

● Spearhead new mill onboarding as necessary.

● Assist with raw material sourcing for material componentry.
