Construction Manager - Owner's Representative

About the Role

A privately held real estate investment and development firm with a national presence and a long-standing footprint in the Southeast is seeking an experienced Construction Manager - Owner's Representative for a major luxury multifamily development project in Concord, NC.

This is a full-time, on-site position, and an office will be provided on the construction site for the successful candidate. You will act as the key liaison between ownership and all project stakeholders - ensuring timely, on-budget delivery of a high-quality product. This role is ideal for a candidate with a solid background in wood-frame construction and strong familiarity with the Charlotte-area construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the ownership's interests on-site, ensuring alignment with design intent, schedule, and budget
• Oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensuring quality and safety standards are upheld
• Monitor and manage project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and local authorities
• Lead construction progress meetings and produce detailed reporting for ownership
• Review drawings and specifications, provide constructability feedback, and support problem-solving in the field
• Participate in value engineering and procurement reviews as needed

Required Qualifications

• Strong background in wood-frame construction, ideally with experience in the Carolinas
• Prior experience as an Owner's Representative or similar client-side construction management role
• Minimum 5+ years in construction, development, or general contracting (multifamily experience strongly preferred)
• Familiarity with Charlotte-area permitting, inspections, and subcontractor market
• Understanding of civil groundwork and site development; a degree in Civil Engineering is a plus, but equivalent experience is welcomed
• Ability to work independently with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
• Proficiency with construction management software and tools
